Part L Compliance Checks

Irish Energy Assessors are regarded as one of the most experienced companies in providing Part L compliance checks.

When submitting a planning application, you must demonstrate that the building will fulfil the minimum energy criteria set out in the Part L Technical Guidance Document.

What we do

We provide a service where one of our assessors will carry out a full Part L compliance check to ensure your plans comply with Part L. You will receive a report detailing compliance with Part L Building Regulations, which you can submit to the relevant planning department along with your application.

All data is reviewed by an assessor who considers energy required for space heating, ventilation, water heating, and lighting, less savings from energy generation technologies (e.g., SIGA air-tightness system). The assessor uses the DEAP system — the official process for calculating and assessing the energy performance of dwellings in Ireland.

We then contact you by phone to discuss possible and necessary changes. Finally, we produce a Building Regulations Output Document that councils or banks typically require before planning is granted or approved.

Process

  1. Send us the plans of your dwelling (drawings/specifications).
  2. Assessor runs a DEAP-based Part L check covering space heating, ventilation, water heating, and lighting; renewables/air-tightness savings applied.
  3. We call you to discuss any required changes to achieve compliance.
  4. We issue the Part L Compliance Report and the Building Regulations Output Document for your planning pack.
