Draught Detection Service

Draughts are common in both old and new homes. Building regulations now require all new homes in Ireland to undergo an air-tightness test.

How the service works

Heat loss and draughts are invisible by nature — pressure testing, smoke tracing, and thermal imaging make them visible so they can be fixed.

Why draughts matter

It’s easy to spot a draughty house: a door “pulls” as you close it, curtains move on windy days, or some rooms feel chilly even with the heating on. Draughty homes are uncomfortable and can let out up to 30% of heat — adding unnecessary cost to your energy bill.

Comfort

Eliminating cold spots stabilises temperatures room-to-room.

Efficiency

Lower uncontrolled air leakage reduces heating demand.

How we detect leaks

Pressure testing: We use a calibrated fan to depressurise the building and trace air paths.

Smoke tracing: Harmless smoke reveals movement through cracks and bypasses.

Thermal imaging (where appropriate): Highlights temperature anomalies linked to infiltration.
